Our early summer Centennial Perennial sale was so popular that we're having an encore to kick start the fall planting season!
Many homeowners think of fall as the season for raking, rather than planting, but experienced gardeners know better. Afternoons come earlier and the nights have begun to cool, but the ground is still warm from summer, creating ideal conditions for plants to put down roots ahead of winter.
It also happens to be one of the best times of year to be outside. There are fewer bugs, and the heat is less intense. Autumn afternoons can be among the most enjoyable times to spend in the garden.
From August 17th–31st, retail customers can get 10 select sale perennials for just $100, only $10 each when you buy 10 or more.
This isn't leftover stock. We grew many of these varieties ourselves, right here at Hoerr Nursery, and we've trialed every one of them to make sure that it thrives in Central Illinois. Because we grew them in-house, we can offer them to you at a lower price, without the added cost of freight.

Be a Part of Our Centennial Celebration: 100 Years, 100 Butterflies🦋

On Saturday, August 29 at 1 p.m., we'll be gathering in the perennial yard here at Hoerr Nursery to release 100 butterflies, one for every year we've been a part of the Peoria community.
The release is free and open to everyone, no registration needed. If it rains, we'll move under the Hoerr Nursery breezeway. Kids can take part with a butterfly craft, and everyone is welcome to add a paper butterfly to our birthday garland, which will feature 100 years of stories from gardeners like you. Write down a Hoerr Nursery memory, a favorite plant, or simply the thing you love most about gardening, and add a piece of your story to ours.
Can't make it on the 29th? Reply to this email with a line or two, and we'll write it on a butterfly and add it to the garland on your behalf. We'd like as much of the community represented as possible, whether you're able to join us that day or not.
While you're here (before or after the release at 1pm), take a walk through our perennial flowers. We'll have sample pollinator-garden designs on hand, so you can see which combinations will draw pollinators to your own garden. And if you've got gardening questions, our experts are always happy to help.
