Sod is mature grass grown and cut into rolls, giving you an established lawn in a day, instead of the weeks it takes to grow one from seed. It's 25% off for the duration of the sale.

This Sunday, our very own Kelly will be at Humming in the Heights, a free, family-friendly celebration of hummingbirds, bees, butterflies, and pollinator gardens. She'll have sample garden plans on hand and answers about what drawns in our ruby-throated friends.

Save the Date: 100th Anniversary Butterfly Release
|
|
|
On Saturday, August 29 at 1 p.m., we'll be gathering in the perennial yard to release 100 butterflies commemorating 100 years, one for every year that Hoerr Nursery has been part of the Peoria community.
It started in 1926, when D.A. Hoerr began delivering topsoil to support his family. One century and three generations later, we're still here, and still growing alongside Central Illinois gardeners.
The release is free and open to everyone, no registration needed. It's our way of saying 'thank you' to the community that has grown alongside us. Butterflies will be handed out for guests to release themselves, supplies permitting. If it rains, we'll move under the nursery breezeway.
While you're here, we invite you to walk through our perennial flowers and pollinator plant displays. We'll have sample pollinator-garden designs, so you can see which combinations have been most successful at drawing butterflies back to our own yards, and if you've got questions, we're always happy to talk gardening.
We hope to see you on the 29th!
