If you’ve already planted, treat this like a typical frost event:

- Cover individual perennials with a 5-gallon bucket, weighed down with a brick or rock so the wind doesn’t send it flying.
- For pansy beds and other cool-season flowers, drape a light blanket or sheet over the whole area. Just remember, never use plastic directly on plants, as it can trap cold and cause damage.
