Our Sod Varieties

Tolerant of both drought and shade, Black Beauty Fescue is a proprietary blend of native tall grass fescue with up to 20% bluegrass. The fine, deep green blades of grass have a glossy protective layer that holds in moisture and protects them from disease, and they don't shred when mown, unlike coarser athletic turf. Puts down roots as deep as 4', and resists browning out during summer. It can also grow and thrive with as little as four hours of sun!

Bluegrass is a dense, emerald green turf that thrives in cool, rainy weather. The blue-green seed heads that it produces give the grass its name, rather than the color of the leaf blades. If you're a fan of MLB or NFL sports, you've seen how tough Bluegrass can be with hard use. It's the standard at many famous sports stadiums, including Illinois' own Wrigley Field.
