Description
The very glossy foliage turns deep cinnabar in the fall contrasting with the rich blue fruits. 'Winterthur' is an improved selection of Smooth Witherod. In late spring clusters of fluffy white blooms appear. The fruits turn from pink to bright blue, and finally, a lustrous black. In autumn the leaves change to a bright, vivid red, outshining the species and many other shrubs as well.
