Description

Dark, glossy, aromatic, semi-evergreen foliage. Female plants produce waxy blue-gray berries in fall. Somewhat upright form, colonizing habit. Very drought and soil tolerant; will grow in shade or sun in sandy, rocky soils. Excellent massed in shade. For heavy fruit set plant one male for every ten females.

Easily grown in average, dry to medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Prefers moist, peaty or sandy, acidic soils, but tolerates a wide range of soils and growing conditions, including drought, poor soils, wet soils, high winds and salt spray (seashore or road salt conditions).
