Moving Trees with Ease and for a Mission

Canton, Ill. – Friday, January 19, Ken Downing of Hoerr Nursery and “Big John” -- the nursery’s giant tree spade, spent a day moving trees at Camp Kearney for the South Side Mission. The project wasn’t your typical landscaping job nor did it require your typical, everyday landscaping tools. But with the help of willing volunteers from South Side Mission, Hoerr Nursery and “Big John,” the team managed to move about 10 trees in under six hours – an equivalent of about a $5,000 contribution in landscaping services. The project was to assist with the landscape renovation at the camp. Read More

Jeff Hoerr and the Landscape Design Team at Hoerr Nursery have been awarded a Merit Award for the landscaping of the Shoppes at Grande Prairie in the 37th Annual Environmental Improvement Awards Program sponsored by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).
