Hoerr Nursery, Peoria, IL- has exclusive local rights to the new Hort Couture™ line of landscape and container plants. The exciting new products offer the finest quality genetics to create plants that are strong, long-lasting, and healthy. Also, the line offers a diverse selection of colors and varieties that have not been generally available.

“We’re having fun with this new line! The names are clever twists from the fashion industry,” said Jane Mason, Marketing Director. “One product, ‘The Fashion Plate™’, is a circular disk with 8 openings. As a convenience for our customers, we pre-load a collection of plants into the openings. Our designers select these plants to be compatible with each other; they can be planted in a container or in a landscape. It’s great, because the hard part – selecting plants and making sure they ‘work’ together– is done for you by our staff.”

The Fashion Plate is also available unloaded for customers to select and load with their own favorites.

“We have created a Hort Couture focal point in the GardenHouse. It’s a petite French façade which capitalizes on the brand, and is surrounded with all the fabulous plants and Fashion Plates,” said Mason. “We’ve had intense interest in the plants. They basically sell themselves because they are unusual and look gorgeous.”

Hoerr Nursery was again named as one of the 100 Most Revolutionary Garden Centers for 2008 by Today’s Garden Center Magazine. This is the third year that the nursery has been recognized with this award.

Hoerr Nursery was established by D.A. Hoerr, 82 years ago. Today, the 3rd generation owns and operates the Central Illinois business. The business includes a nursery for growing shrubs and trees, an award-winning Landscape Design and Installation Department, a Lawn Care/Maintenance and Irrigation Department and an award-winning Garden Center with a StoneMarket and the new GardenHouse, a 10,000 sq ft retail greenhouse.
