HOERR NURSERY GARDEN-PLAN SKETCHES

A free garden-plan sketch is being offered to any customer at the Hoerr Nursery Garden Center on Highway 91 north of War Memorial.

"This is a great service for anyone who needs some help with a special small area in their garden. Something like around the base of a tree or a yard light. Or maybe a space at the edge of a patio, or around a garden bench," said Dave Ploussard, Garden Center Manager. "On April 1 for the Garden-Plan Sketch participants, there will be a brief preliminary presentation with an overview of creating a garden space. Then each participant will meet with one of our exceptional Hoerr horticulturists to sketch out a plan of whatever best fits the client's needs. It may include flowers, shrubs, grasses, and trees -- all sorts of solutions."

On Saturday, April 1, Hoerr is offering three sessions for the Garden-Plan Sketch customers: 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Customers may sign up for whichever session is most convenient for them. They will receive an orientation, a packet of helpful garden information, a meeting with a horticulturist, and an individual garden-plan sketch. The sessions fill on a first come-first serve basis. There is no charge for the service, so it is expected that the time slots will fill up quickly. To reserve a space call: 314-691-4561. If Saturday, April 1 is not convenient for the customer, or when the sessions for April 1 fill, customers are invited to set up an appointment for another day. The Garden-Plan Sketch service will continue to be available all season at no charge for the customer.

Ploussard said that if the client is interested in solutions for a larger area, or for projects like brick walkways or stone walls, which are beyond the scope of the 'free sketch,' interested customers are invited to talk to a professional landscape designer through the Hoerr Design Center. Hoerr Nursery is open 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday - Saturday. Hoerr maintains a tradition of remaining closed on Sunday to allow employees and customers time to celebrate their personal lives with their families.
