Hoerr Nursery Contributes to City-wide Service Initiative

Peoria, IL – On Saturday, July 24, Hoerr Nursery is donating a landscape design and plant materials including 300 daylilies to a city-wide service initiative coordinated by four area churches in an effort to meet different needs throughout the city of Peoria.

Volunteers will plant the daylilies along Sheridan Road between Main and McClure Streets and install the landscape plan at Manual High School, designed by Jeff Hoerr, Landscape Architect at Hoerr Nursery. The donation, including landscape design and plant materials, is estimated at over $5000.

“This project is a civic outreach program that strives to improve the quality of life for members of our community,” said Hoerr. “The cleanup and beautification effort is only a small part of a bigger community outreach project. We are honored to be able to give back to the community through this program.”

Earlier this spring Hoerr Nursery partnered with Northwoods Community Church and the South Side Mission to plant 85 Chanticleer Pear trees along Malone Street in Peoria. The trees were planted as part of a beautification and outreach effort for the residents of Malone Street.
