Hoerr Nursery’s Garden Plan Sketch Event Named a “Top Ten Idea of 2008”
Wednesday, January 21, 2009Hoerr Nursery of Peoria, IL has been cited by Today’s Garden Center Magazine for having one of the Top Ten Ideas in 2008.
The magazine gathers “best practices” ideas from garden centers across North America and selects a variety of ideas each month to publish in its “Steal this Idea” column. Hoerr Nursery’s idea on offering brief sessions with customers to sketch a design of a small area in the customer’s landscapes was selected as one of the top ten ideas.
“This is a thrill for us. Our Garden Plan Sketch events have been very popular with our customers, and it’s rewarding to know that the idea is recognized as an innovative solution,” said Jane Mason, Marketing Director, Hoerr Nursery.
The author of the “Steal this Idea” column commented on the event as, “One of the best garden center ideas I’ve come across is offering design services for …customers who want to try a little gardening but just aren’t confident enough or experienced enough to know where to begin. Hoerr Nursery has taken what could be a challenging service and set some clear expectations in the customer’s mind.”
The Garden Plan Sketch events for 2009 have not been scheduled yet, but will be posted at www.HoerrNursery.com when the event calendar is complete.
Today, the 3rd generation owns Hoerr Nursery including a Garden Center, GardenHouse, Your Own Private Gardener services, landscape design and installation, and landscape & lawn maintenance, in addition to other landscape-related services.
