Hoerr Nursery Recognized at National Event in Chicago

Peoria, Ill. - Hoerr Nursery was honored at the national Independent Garden Center meeting in Chicago last week as the 57th most outstanding nursery in the country. This selection is from a group of over 20,000 independent garden centers in the USA.

Bryon Rinkenberger, Nursery Production Manager, attended the event on behalf of the nursery. “I am proud of the outstanding employees who made this possible. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes at a business as complex as ours. It’s every single Hoerr Nursery employee who makes recognition such as this possible.”

Marketing Director Jane Mason, who was also at the luncheon recognizing the nursery said, “It starts at the top. There is a commitment to delivery the Hoerr Experience from the four owners. These are four of the grandsons of the founder, and they continue to aspire to core values that D.A. Hoerr established over 80 years ago.”

Significant accomplishments so far this year at Hoerr Nursery include:
• Opening a new 10,000 square foot glass-enclosed retail space. Named the GardenHouse at Hoerr Nursery, the addition has added light-filled retail space to handle the robust sales at the nursery.
• The highest volume May sales ever in the Garden Center.
• Creation of a half-hour video explaining in-depth the opportunities and processes involved in having a landscape designed and installed by Hoerr Nursery. The video emphasizes the concept of a DREAMscape – any landscape you can dream can be installed by Hoerr Nursery.
• Upcoming launch of a newly revitalized website.

Hoerr Nursery has a full-service Garden Center as well as an award-winning landscape design and installation unit; a production nursery growing: trees, nursery stock, sod, & perennials, for re-wholesale and to supply its landscape and retail customers.
